§ Core Technology

Two lenses. Two hours of the day.

E-Guard Retina™ for the screen-lit day. E-Guard Circadian™ for the fall of night. Two dedicated optical systems, one honest standard.

Certified · Daytime

E-Guard™ Retina

Protection du bleu-violet haute énergie·Protect visual comfort during long screen sessions

E-Guard Retina selectively filters part of the blue-violet wavelengths responsible for digital eye strain during prolonged screen sessions, while preserving color perception.

  • Defeats Screen Fatigue: Minimizes dry, itchy, and red eyes

  • Precision Filtering: Targets only the harsh blue-violet light

  • Built for High-Output: Ideal for long workdays, binge watching, and intense gaming

Certified · Nighttime

E-Guard™ Circadian

Soutien du rythme circadien et du confort visuel·Sunset Mode & Sleep Protection

Exposure to high-energy blue light after dark tricks your brain into thinking it's still noon, disrupting your natural sleep cycle. E-Guard Circadian™ mitigates these specific evening wavelengths while maintaining a natural viewing experience.

  • Protects Melatonin: Limits evening light disruption to support deeper, uninterrupted sleep

  • True-to-Life Colors: Maximum circadian protection with significantly less color distortion than traditional amber lenses

  • Smarter Night Routines: Built for late-night gaming, work, streaming, and scrolling

§ Why Both Matter

Why both matter.

Most blue-light eyewear treat all blue light as if it were the same. At Eyegis we see it as two very different challenges.

§ Honest Science™

The science behind the lenses. Without the marketing myths.

The blue-light market is filled with confusion, exaggerated claims, and misleading numbers. Our goal is simple: explain what we know, what we don't know, and how our lenses are engineered.

§ 01Spectrum

Blue light is not one single thing.

"Blue light" is often marketed as one specific threat. In reality, it spans a broad spectrum of visible wavelengths between 380 and 500 nanometers. Think of it like UV light: it's a category, not a single wavelength.

Retina · 435–440
Circadian · ~480
380 nm400420440460480500 nm
§ 02Two mechanisms

Retina vs Circadian.

Retina

Photobiological hazard

Research on photobiological hazards identifies a peak sensitivity in the blue-violet region, around 435–440 nm.

Ref. ICNIRP 2013 · ANSI 2015

Circadian

Biological clock

The body's internal clock is most sensitive to slightly longer blue wavelengths, centered around roughly 480 nm.

Ref. CIE S 026/E:2018

Because the biological mechanisms and wavelengths are different, Eyegis targets them as two separate problems.

§ 03Selective filtering

Why selective filtering matters.

Many brands advertise a single, catch-all number: "Blocks 40%", "Blocks 60%", or "Blocks 90%". These metrics are highly misleading because they depend entirely on which wavelengths are included in the math.

A lens could block large amounts of relatively less relevant wavelengths while allowing much of the critical range to pass through. Actually, the cornea already filters close to 100% of blue-light on the lowest wavelengths (~380 nm to 400 nm).

Eyegis measures performance where it actually matters, not where it inflates a marketing claim.

§ 04Color fidelity

Why heavy orange lenses distort colors.

When a lens aggressively strips away all blue light, color accuracy vanishes.

Heavy amber
Eyegis · true tone
  • Reddish or amber screens
  • Reduced color accuracy
  • Altered white balance
  • Distorted visual experience

For some applications, that trade-off may be acceptable. For many users, it is not.

§ 05The middle ground

Protection without compromise.

Targeted filtering
Superior color fidelity
More comfortable everyday use
No extreme orange tint
§ 06E-Guard Scores

Understanding E-Guard Scores.

The E-Guard Retina and E-Guard Circadian scores are proprietary Eyegis indicators. They are inspired by published scientific literature, including work from the CIE and research on circadian light exposure.

They are not medical certifications and should not be interpreted as medical claims.

§ Science in Practice

From scientific principles to laboratory verification.

At Eyegis, we don't rely on marketing claims or estimated filtering percentages. Every lens design is verified through independent laboratory testing to measure how it performs across the entire visible spectrum.

Lab · λ 280–780 nm · Independent Verification
§ Testing Checklist

Five independent measurements.

Test · 01

Full Spectral Transmission (280–780 nm)

Measures exactly how much light passes through the lens at every wavelength, allowing us to evaluate both retinal and circadian filtering performance.

Test · 02

UV Protection

Verifies that harmful UVA and UVB radiation is effectively blocked while maintaining high visible-light transmission.

Test · 03

Visible Light Transmission (Tv)

Determines how much visible light reaches your eyes, ensuring the lens provides the intended balance between comfort and brightness.

Test · 04

Color Fidelity

Evaluates chromatic performance using internationally recognized colorimetric standards to preserve a natural viewing experience. Including Tsig Traffic Signal Recognition that confirms accurate recognition of red, yellow, and green traffic signals.

Test · 05

International Standards Compliance

Our lenses are tested against: ANSI Z80.3 (United States), EN ISO 12312-1 (Europe), AS/NZS 1067.1 (Australia & New Zealand).

"Because numbers only matter when they mean something."

A complete transmission spectrum reveals which wavelengths are filtered, how much visible light remains, how colors are preserved, and whether the lens complies with international safety standards.

We don't engineer lenses to maximize marketing numbers. We engineer them to maximize the balance between science, comfort and everyday usability.

§ 04EyegisGuard™ Technology

Engineered to protect.
Designed to preserve.

EyegisGuard™ is our proprietary lens technology, developed to selectively filter specific wavelengths of blue light while preserving natural color accuracy, visual clarity and everyday comfort. No hype. No fear. Just quiet optical engineering.

01The Lens

A single lens, five deliberate layers.

Every EyegisGuard™ lens is built as a stack of considered choices — each one measurable, none of them cosmetic.

EyegisGuard™ optical lens — floating study
01Premium Optical Lens

High-clarity optical resin, precision-polished for distortion-free vision.

02Selective Blue-Light Filter

Attenuates a targeted portion of the 400–455 nm band without shifting color.

03Anti-Reflective Coating

Multi-layer AR treatment reduces glare from screens and ambient light.

04Scratch-Resistant Surface

Hard-coat finish protects the lens across years of daily wear.

05TR90 Lightweight Comfort

Aerospace-grade thermoplastic frame — flexible, hypoallergenic, weightless.

02How It Works

We filter a slice of the spectrum — not the whole sky.

A narrow, targeted band of high-energy blue light — attenuated with intent, so daylight, screens and skin tones still look like themselves.

Honest Science™

Three principles.Nothing invented.

01

Selective filtering, not a tint

E-Guard Retina™ and E-Guard Circadian™ act only on the wavelengths where high-energy blue light lives — and leave the rest of the visible spectrum to your eyes, so colours stay honest.

02

Frames built to be forgotten

Featherweight TR90 architecture, balanced hinges, quiet silhouettes — an object designed to sit on your face all day and belong in your wardrobe at night.

03

Backed by optics, not slogans

Every lens is engineered against peer-reviewed optical principles — ICNIRP, CIE S 026, ANSI Z80.3 — and verified in an independent laboratory. No inflated percentages. No overpromises.
